My backyard is one of my greatest resources for materials and inspiration. Whether I’m sewing leaves from fall or spring clean-up, or bending and shaping branches from our trees and shrubs, I am always aware of climate change and its impact. Recent drought, floods, cold harsh winters, and unexpected heat waves have all taken their toll on our own backyards and gardens. I try to capture some of these environmental consequences in my artwork. Most recently I have started foraging young leaves and petals to make natural inks.
